A musical scene

Scene: Classroom
Actors: group of children and female teacher

[Teacher enters from stage right and walks to board]

Children: [greets in different languages and only one say hello in English]

Teacher:
Now listen up my students,
I don't know how to say,
This that will make you understand in a way,
Yet I hope I can teach to not sway,
And I know that many of you will go through life a little a stray,
However I hope to impart those of you who can understand what I say,
With a little a knowledge like to brush your teeth to further prevent decay,
And the proper etiquette of how to wear a beret,
Despite my desire to teach you I know there'll be a day,
You will stop wanting to learn and lay,
The books on the table and say,
In your foreign tongue, "Enough is a enough! I don't know what your saying!"
However because I'm the teacher of the future,
I want what's right and just,
I will keep teaching my students with an endless circle of relaying,
Further more I hope after college at least one of my students, whomever you may be, will thank me by a waving,

English child: Yes ma'am

[children burst out laughing]

[scene fades]

Immigration Song

1.What A dirty room
2. What a ride full of hope
1. I miss the cherrie blossoms upon the sturdy branches
2. I love the adventure, and the rush of adreniline
1. Why bother wastin my money
2. For happiness, doesn’t require a penny
1. Why must you call it the island of angels, when they do not hear of my helplessness and call
2. One must wait the time for the future and savor the time for you will look back and smile one day
1. The hurry scurry of the blurry assult my senses. How does one find anything here?
2. All these people together what a miracle that all of these ethnicities and the Blacks and the Whites and the Chinese and Mexicans. And don’t forget the clashing faith of all different religions like the Mormons and Buddists, and Catholics and Christians and all of the others
1. You don’t fool me with your sparkly lies. I can see strait through your crooked truths of splender and just and love and hope. No! Not for me!
2. Dancing on broadway, swimming on the coast, spending days with my friends! Oh! What the possibilities, purely endless bliss!
1. If you think that glorious things, could possibly sway my feelings about leaving my neighboors, my friends, my family, then you must take me for a fool
2. I may miss my family but in order to progress, in order for success, then I must separate and become my own!

2. Oooooo! Job here and jobs there! This economy will just boom! With flying colors! Just boom! Because that is the way America is!
1. Who cares about money! Atleast when its at the expense of your humility! I’d rather work for less than work at the amused employers expense!
2. People around me feel just the way I feel, I don’t have to worry about money or status because no one cares about my background, but everyone understands how hard it is. To go to a different place, so far away!
1. How rude and unfriendly! No wonder its chaos, if someone would lend another a hand. Maybe this place might not be so bad.
½. Oh, (lovely/ugly) city that makes the world so different!
2. For better-
1. Or worse-
½. We are know in America!
